The best diy cleaning spray
My kids are worker bees. From the time that they are little, they are helping. We like to see our kids be purposeful and build confidence as they learn that other people can depend upon them. They know the satisfaction of a job well done, and as the saying goes, “Many hands make light work.” As a result, we go through a TON of cleaning supplies! Someone is always mixing up another bottle. And that’s why this is the BEST DIY cleaning spray for households.
Since my kids are using them daily, its really important to me to make sure that the products that we use are safe, non toxic, and gentle on our bodies. My kids are exposed to these cleaning products every day, and sometimes they are left accessible to the tinier people. I can’t tell you how many times I have heard one of the big kids call me from the other side of the house, “Mom! Theo sprayed himself in the eyes with the bathroom spray!”
Avoiding Harsh chemicals
Even the most careful kids (or parents) can mindlessly leave the cleaning spray out on the counter. And sometimes little people just enjoy going into cabinets that they know they shouldn’t be in! Spraying yourself in the eyes with bleach or harsh chemicals is a whole different situation than spraying yourself with this child-friendly, natural cleaning solution. Not to mention, curious kids who like to taste strange liquids. We all know one or have one!

The best diy spray is versatile
We use this spray everywhere! I have a bottle stashed in the kitchen, one in each bathroom, and one in the laundry. I love playing around with different scent combinations. A lot of people use Tea Tree oil in natural cleaning sprays, but I honestly don’t love the smell and neither does my family. My husband’s favorite is Patchouli + Vanilla and I tend to like a soft Vanilla + Citrus or earthy scent like rosemary or Eucalyptus. It really just depends on personal preference. So just have fun and play around to figure out which you like best!
The big investment with homemade cleaning supplies is up front. Quality essential oils can be pricey, but once you have them, they last a VERY long time and are very inexpensive per bottle. If you can’t afford essential oils but would like to use all natural cleaning supplies, NO WORRIES. You can sub the essential oils for a squeeze of fresh lemon and even throw in some fresh herbs. However, the solution will only last up to 24 hours before you’ll need to toss it or refrigerate it for up to 5 days.
