Creamy Cinnamon Oatmeal

Callie Morgan
This deliciously creamy cinnamon oatmeal is warm, hearty, and lightly sweetened with brown sugar and a hint of pure vanilla. We make this fun by loading up with all the toppings like shredded coconut, chocolate chips, cinnamon sugar, chopped toasted pecans, and dried fruit.

Ingredients

  • 4 heaping cups of old fashioned oats
  • 8 cups whole milk
  • 6 cups water
  • 1/2 heaping cup of brown sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 4 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • To begin, add your old fashioned oats, milk, and water to a medium sized stock pot over medium heat. Let the mixture come to a boil, then turn the heat down to a simmer.
4 heaping cups of old fashioned oats, 8 cups whole milk, 6 cups water
  • Once the oatmeal is simmering, add in the cinnamon, vanilla, salt, and brown sugar. Allow it to simmer 10-20 minutes, or until the oats have absorbed a lot of the liquid and has thickened into a porridge.
1/2 heaping cup of brown sugar, 1 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract, 4 tsp ground cinnamon, 1 tsp salt
  • Once the oatmeal is ready, remove it from the heat and pour into individual bowls. Add whichever toppings you like and serve warm! Enjoy!
