Honey Lemon Cough Syrup

Honey, lemon, rosemary and cinnamon work together in this natural honey lemon cough syrup to soothe sore throats and ease coughing. Optionally, you can also add a couple tablespoons of bourbon, which has decongestant and analgesic properties.

- 1 1/2 Cup Raw Organic Honey local is best!
- 3-4 lemons juiced
- 1 Tbsp lemon zest
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 sprig of fresh rosemary
- 1/2 Cup warm water
- Optional: 1/4 -1/2 Cup Bourbon
Begin by heating your water so that it is warm but not hot. Add the warm water and honey and to your mason jar and stir it so that it begins to thin out.
1/2 Cup warm water, 1 1/2 Cup Raw Organic Honey
Grate one of the lemons and squeeze the juice from all four. You should have roughly 1 Tbsp of zest and 1/2 Cup of juice. Add the lemon juice and zest to the honey- water mixture and stir to combine.
3-4 lemons, 1 Tbsp lemon zest
Next, add in the cinnamon sticks and rosemary sprig. If you would like to add bourbon, add 1/4 - 1/2 cup. Place the top on your jar and tighten before giving the mixture a few gentle shakes.

Use immediately or store at room temperature for future use.
