Brown Sugar Green Beans with Bacon

Tender fresh green beans tossed in melted butter, garlic, and brown sugar and topped with chopped bacon pieces. Perfectly sweet and salty and a classic side dish to any meal.

Ingredients
  

  • 32 oz Fresh Green Beans
  • 4 Tbsp Unsalted Butter
  • 1/2 Cup Light Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • First, wash your green beans under cool water and snip off the ends.
  • Then, Bring a large pot of water to a roaring boil. Add in the prepared green beans and let them cook for exactly two minutes- no longer.
    32 oz Fresh Green Beans
  • Drain the green beans and quickly toss them into an ice water bath to stop the cooking process. Let them sit for 30 seconds and then drain them again and let them sit to dry while you make the sauce.
  • Once the sauce is ready, toss the green beans into the pot and toss until covered.
  • Transfer the green beans to a serving dish and top with the chopped bacon. Enjoy!

Brown Sugar Sauce

  • Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
    4 Tbsp Unsalted Butter
  • Once the butter is melted, add in the garlic, brown sugar, and salt to taste.
    1/2 Cup Light Brown Sugar, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, salt to taste
  • Stir until the brown sugar has melted.

Notes

STORAGE: You can store the green beans in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 to 5 days. However, they are best served fresh the day of cooking.
